Step 1 – Terms & Conditions
Triennial Photo Salon Sofia (PSS) 2018, Third Salon is OPEN
      To participate in PSS, photographers must take the following steps:
      1. Register at the official website of the salon www.salonsofia.eu
      2. Fill in the application form (only in English) and upload photos to the website according to the various sections/themes.
      3. Pay subscription online of 20 EUR or 25 USD

Send the application on a single CD together with the entry fee (20 EUR or 25 USD) to: 1504, Sofia P.B 7 If entering as a group, club or photographic society there must be a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 participants. Application only accepted on a single CD by mail (or through the online form by marking each participant as a group member). Together with an entry fee of 100 EUR or 125 USD.

Rules related to participants

Entry is open to all photographers worldwide, amateur or professional either as an individual or as a group. Photographers can participate in one, two, or all sections. Each photographer can submit a maximum of four photographs in “Open Color” and “Open Monochrome” section. Participants have the right to participate with a portfolio only in the Portfolio section, provided that such portfolio corresponds to one common theme (chosen by the author), and includes at least 3 photographs and no more than 6. The jury has the right to either accept or reject the portfolio sent without any right to make correction on the author’s selection. The closing date to receive participating works is May 3, 2018.  Participants must submit their photographs as digital files which will be uploaded into the website or send them on a single CD by mail to: P.B 7, 1504 Sofia, Bulgaria. Prints or e-mail attachments will not be accepted.

Rules related to photographs

Photographs can be taken in color or black-and-white. Photographs can be edited or have additions as long as they are authentic. However, adoptions of works done by other artists or plagiarized works are not accepted. Photographs with scripts or drawings such as signatures and borders are not accepted. Each photo must be (titled) and preferably short. If submitting a portfolio give a title to each image as well as a title to the portfolio. Photographs must be submitted in JPG format only. and the size of the shortest dimension (either length or width) not less than 2000 pixels. The photograph must be high quality and at least 300 dpi. (To get high quality printouts, it is not advisable to scale down the originals or enlarge or scale down quality settings whether the originals are less or more than 300 dpi. Hence, unaltered original photos definitely give the best printouts regardless of the camera type). Photographs originating from film, medium or large format cameras or slide are all acceptable provided they scanned and entered digitally.

Participants shall:

Acknowledge their full ownership of their submitted works (comprising all the elements included in the photographs and creative ideas related to them) and declare that they are not plagiarized or adopted from or do not include any elements from works by other artists. Acknowledge that the rights related to their submitted photographs have not been assigned, sold, reserved or licensed in any way hatsoever to third party or subject to any restriction that may restrict their full freedom and associated rights. Acknowledge that they have obtained all the required approvals with respect to the persons appearing in their photographs or with respect to their publication in books, prints and exhibitions as per the above rules. Authorize PSS to exhibit their submitted photographs in exhibitions organized by the Treyman Foundation inside and outside Bulgaria. Authorize PSS to reproduce and publish or allow third parties to reproduce and publish all their submitted photographs through all types of international media outlets in information stream only related with PSS, while reserving the intellectual and material rights of the photographers.

Other conditions

The Administration of the Competition shall have the right to reject any participation that does not meet the requirements, objectives or themes without having to justify it. Once submitted, participants do not have the right to withdraw their photographs.

FIAP Best Author Award; FIAP Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and Honourable Mentions in each section; Gold medals by Academy of Photography Bulgaria in each section.

Important

” With the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon under FIAP Patronage, the entrant accepts without exception and with no objection that the submitted images can be investigated by FIAP to establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if the entrant is not a member of FIAP; that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking; that any refusal to cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure to provide sufficient evidence, will be sanctioned by FIAP and that in case of sanctions following the non compliance with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released in any form useful to inform the breaches of the rules. It is recommended to leave the EXIF data in the submitted files intact in order to ease eventual investigations.”
